Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene is a new nonprofit, university-affiliated journal. Publishing original research reporting new knowledge of the Earth's physical, chemical, and biological systems during this era of human impacts; feedbacks between human and natural systems; and steps that can be taken to mitigate and adapt to environmental change, Elementa is freely available worldwide on an open-access basis. Elementa reports on fundamental advancements in research organized initially into six domains, embracing the concept that basic knowledge can foster sustainable solutions for society.
